Bacheng: China’s First Town of Hairy Crabs

Bacheng, a scenic town in Kunshan, is crowned as “China’s First Town of Hairy Crabs” for its proximity to the strikingly attractive Yangcheng Lake, which produces the best hairy crabs in China.

Yangcheng Lake Water Park

The Yangcheng Lake Water Park is a comprehensive ecological resort that features tourist attractions, leisure and shopping facilities, health clubs and, most notably, the Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs. With watercourses running through the park, you can enjoy the picturesque scenes around the eastern Yangcheng Lake by yacht or hand-cranked boat available at the docks.

Chongning Monastery

Originally built in the Southern and Northern Dynasties around 1,500 years ago, the Chongning Monastery overlooks the Yangcheng Lake, where you can have the Buddhist vegetarian food and find peace in your heart.

Bacheng Old Street

This culturally appealing ancient street is bristling with galleries and museums, including the Yu Feng Ancient Cultural Relics Museum, the Southern China Wood Sculpture Museum, the Crab Culture Museum, the Museum of Kunshan Stone, the Painting and Calligraphy Museum, and the Bamboo Flute Museum. Take your time to discover the charm of Bacheng’s history and culture.
